When installing an electric chain hoist, the chain box should be installed first. The power supply must be cut off before connecting the power cord. At the same time, the ground wire should be well grounded; otherwise, the operator may feel an electric shock when touching any part of the hoist or chain.
Lubricate the load chain of the chain hoist. The degree of lubrication is an important factor affecting the load chain's service life. Timely and effective lubrication can ensure its effective service life.
Check the arrangement of the chain: For multi-row chain hoists, ensure that the lower hook frame is not flipped. If it is flipped, restore it to the normal state to ensure that the welding joints of the chain are arranged in a row. Do not suspend a load on a chain hoist with a twisted chain.
Check the working voltage: Since the chain hoist is equipped with the voltage specified by the user or a higher voltage when leaving the factory (only for dual-voltage models, such as 230/460V), check the wiring and confirm whether it meets the power supply voltage requirements. Operating the chain hoist at an inappropriate voltage may cause serious damage to it. To prevent this, it is necessary to ensure that the wiring meets the power supply requirements.
The chain hoist is a very common tool. Many customers operate it improperly during use, which may cause many problems. The solutions are as follows:
1. The power phase is connected incorrectly, causing the phase protection to activate and making it impossible to operate.
Solution: Swap the two-phase power cords.
2. The fuse of the power supply is blown, or the fuseless switch trips.
Solution: Check if the current demand is met and replace the appropriate fuse or reset the fuseless switch.
3. The fuse of the control circuit is burned out.
Solution: Check and replace the correct fuse.
4. The power cord or control circuit wire is broken or not properly connected.
Solution: Repair or replace the broken or poorly connected wires.
5. The power supply voltage is too low.
Solution: Measure whether the voltage is more than 10% lower than the standard supply voltage.
6. The motor makes noise but does not rotate.
Solution: Check if the motor phase is correct - repair and insulate properly.
7. The emergency switch is pressed.
Solution: Confirm the reason for pressing the emergency switch.
8. The contractor is faulty.
Solution: Manually operate the hoist. If the chain hoist operates normally, it indicates that there is poor contact in the control coil or wire - find the location of the poor contact and repair it; if the chain hoist still cannot be operated manually, check if the main power supply is normal. If the main power supply is normal, it indicates a faulty contactor that cannot output normally, and the contactor needs to be replaced.
